Beekman Bombers Baseball
Great branding is about more than logos and uniforms. For teams like the Beekman Bombers, it creates connection, builds confidence, and gives players, families, and fans something they’re proud to believe in.
When Branding Becomes Team Culture
One of my favorite branding projects didn’t come from a client meeting or agency pitch. It came from a dugout full of 10-year-old baseball players.
As the coach of my son’s travel baseball team, the boys were given the chance to choose their own team name. There were plenty of ideas thrown around. Bulldogs had some momentum. Bandits made a strong run. But in the end, the team unanimously rallied behind one name: The Beekman Bombers.
Once the name was chosen, the branding process officially began. New team colors were selected, logos were sketched, and before long the Bombers had a complete identity system that included a primary logo, secondary mark, hats, bat bags, banners, stickers, water bottles, t-shirts, and more. The reaction from the players was immediate. The boys loved the branding so much they wanted the logo on absolutely everything.
What started as a fun creative exercise quickly became something bigger. The players took real ownership of the team identity. They showed up to the field feeling confident, united, and proud to represent something that truly felt like theirs. Suddenly the Bombers weren’t just another travel team. They had personality, energy, and presence before they even stepped onto the field.
And yes... they also started winning a lot of baseball games.
It was a reminder that great branding is about more than design. It creates connection, builds confidence, and gives people something they genuinely believe in.
“Once the Bombers branding came to life, the team showed up looking united, confident, and ready to compete.”
